[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome to Abundant Mindset. I'm Marina Painter and today we're talking about transforming the way you think so you can transform the way you live and lead. We are watching now Media Television. Welcome to Abundant Mindset with Marina Painter. I'm Marina Painter. Today I want to begin with a truth that many high achieving professionals know but not always say out loud. Success can look impressive on the outside while the body is quietly paying the price. So many men and women are building careers, leading teams, growing business, raising families and holding everything together while ignoring fatigue, stress, brain fog, inflammation, hormonal changes, digestive issues and emotional overwhelm. Are they simply overwhelmed or is it something going on beneath the surface that they need to ask deeper questions? My question today and my guest to answer the question is Dr. Raquel Yarrow, functional health practitioner and founder of Rockin Health. Through root cause, Health work and mindset transformation, she helps professional men and women stop sacrificing their health for their career. Her mission is to help people uncover what is keeping them stuck, break free from limiting beliefs, reclaim their energy, clarity, confidence, and get unstuck and truly unstoppable. This is a conversation about health, but it's also a conversation about abundance. Because a career, business or life built at the expense of body is not true freedom. Dr. Raquel, welcome to Abundant Mindset with Marina Painter. [00:02:00] Speaker B: Marina, it's wonderful to be on your show. Thank you for having me. [00:02:04] Speaker A: Thank you for being here. So everyone that's listening, I just want you to just pause for just a second and ask yourself a question. Is the life that you have right now, are you enjoying it? Is it the success you're building, the career you're building, the business you're building? Is it all strengthening your life or are you using health as a payment method? Because abundance is not only about what we create externally, it's also about the energy, clarity, confidence and vitality that you have to have. I'm starting this conversation with Dr. Raquel by looking at the hidden health costs of professional success. So, Dr. Raquel, we see those people, we have them everywhere. They are successful on the outside, but they are disconnecting from the reality, from their families, from the engagement, from the vision and clarity they had in the beginning when they started their success and career path. So let's, let's unpack that for a second. Why do you think that's happening? How do people even know that they're stuck? [00:03:18] Speaker B: That's an excellent question. So actually, a lot of times they don't. But what they'll start to feel Is that frustration and the exhaustion and being like, is this all life is? They'll start to question things and I could start realizing that I'm not living the dream that I always thought I was going to dream. So if you think about it, when we were like little kids, we had these dreams of what we wanted to have in our life. And all of a sudden it's like we wake up and it's 20, 30 years down the road and we're like, wait, this isn't what I wanted to have. And all of a sudden they start questioning that and they start thinking about, am I truly being true to me? Am I truly living my life or am I just living someone else's life? And so then they'll start to realize and start to look at things and they realize, I'm completely exhausted. I'm not happy, I'm frustrated. I'm, I'm tired of being tired. I'm tired of being. Not being able to think straight or confused or just like living somebody else's dream and not mine. And then sometimes what I have noticed too is people don't even know what their dreams are anymore. They don't even know what they want. And so when they get there, they're like, well, how do I figure that out? And that's where they have to realize they're kind of stuck. But then it's also that creative moment where they can take the opportunity to be like, if I could, what would I truly want? And that's what people have to start asking themselves when they start to get into those situations or if they're exhausted. It's like, what do you want instead? So you can start figuring out, where are you stuck? Where are you not living the life you want? Where are you not having the health you want? What's keeping you from being who you truly are meant to be? So, so first I'll start there, which is great. [00:05:09] Speaker A: So, well, let's get to the next point then. Why do you think that high achieving people become so accustomed to that new life and normalize that and when it becomes just so part of day to day and it becomes part of their identity. [00:05:27] Speaker B: Yeah. And that's the thing is they take on this identity role that, hey, you know, I'm working all these hours and I'm doing all of this stuff and they kind of see it as like almost like a symbol. And it's the way the American culture has changed is do more and keep doing more, keep doing more and then you're successful when in reality you might Just be sitting there spinning your wheels. You might not actually be accomplishing, doing what you want, but you sure are busy. You got lots of to do lists, you're checking things off, you're busy at work, you're staying long hours, you're putting in the work, but silently you're exhausted. Silently you're frustrated, silent, you're, you want to throw in the towel because you're like, why am I doing this? I have this one life to live and why am I doing this? Why am I killing myself to do all these hours? And I don't even get to see my family or be a part of life. So you have to kind of look at it that it's become more of that symbol. It's like you get the pat on the back. The more you do, the more you're a part of life, or the more you do more at work, the more hours you spend, all of a sudden you get that pat of the back. That's what you think is going to make you bigger and better, but in reality it's not. It's not making you fulfilled in life because you're just burning your candle in multiple different ends. It's not even two ends anymore. You've got the candle divided and three, you know, four or five different sections and you're burning a candle in all those sections. So you got like 12 ends burning. So I think that, you know, when you stop and look at where your life is and you realize that you're not going the trajectory that you want to go, that's when things kind of start to do and when you stop looking at how society is conditioned you to think that, hey, the more you do, the more you give up your life for everything else, the better you'll be. But that's, that's not true. I mean, that doesn't lead to a happy, healthy person. That just leads to a burnt out, frustrated, exhausted person. [00:07:21] Speaker A: Absolutely. Because you lose yourself in the midst of it, Right? It's, you know that how you cook a frog, right? You start the water just warm and it just hit, you know, increase the temperature. And by the way, I'm not comparing anybody to frogs. I'm just saying that you don't even understand that this is happening because you're in it. And when does your body tell you? Like, when do you know when you just tired or it's beyond tired, when you just, you know, is your body telling you something? How do you know that your body is trying to tell you something? [00:07:57] Speaker B: Well, unfortunately, a lot of times, especially in women who are in the, you know, business sector or doing a lot of doing, doing, doing, and also trying to manage their family, women are more susceptible to getting, like, an autoimmune disease and having that fatigue and the exhaustion. So for women, it's a lot of times they start to not feel so good, and they will go into the medical system and they'll get a diagnosis of like an autoimmune. That is sometimes the first thing that happens to them is they actually get the diagnosis because they. They just kept going and they burnt their body out and they created an autoimmune because honestly, in the autoimmunes for a woman begin in the teen years when you start with your hormones and start with the constant. Even we teach our kids from a young age in high school and grade school that, you know, you need to do, do get the. All these amazing grades. You can become, become. Become these other people. And so what we do is we start burning ourselves out as a kid. So then while the time you get to be an adult, you had nothing left to give anyways. So I would say that for the first thing for women is they get the diagnosis or they start to feel like something starts to go wrong, and it actually interrupts business or interrupts their daily life. For men, it's the same thing. It's usually. But for men, I found is they'll keep pushing and they don't always get the autoimmune. For men, it's more like all of a sudden they're just too tired to work out or too tired to do the things they want to do at the end of the day. And then they're like. Or when they get to retirement age and they realize they're too sick to do anything that's involved in retirement age. But a lot of times men are looking for that performance. How do they make their brain work? They want to be on top of their game. So when they start noticing, hey, my brain isn't working as well, or I brain fog, or I have more fatigue and I can't work out, that's when I'll see them kind of recognize that there's something else going on and they need to take care of it. Women push through way past that way until they get the diagnosis of something being wrong. [00:10:01] Speaker A: Absolutely. And I know I was one of those people. I remember, you know, back in the day, I. I told myself, all right, if I get my cpa, I'll be happy. I'll do this, I'll push through this, and I'll Go, you know, work crazy hours and you know, seven days a week and you know, 12 hour days. But at some point I had to stop up and say, all right, well this is great, I achieved the success. But where is happy in all of that? Because I don't feel abundant. I feel like I'm chasing and chasing, chasing, going against the stream, you know, trying to swim up the stream. But I'm like, well, life should not be like that, right? So I had to recondition my mind and become more aligned with my belief system, reshuffle my belief system and get aligned with the abundant mindset. That's why I'm very passionate about my show and get to talk to people like you and hold. Hopefully all the viewers watching this will enjoy and implement all the changes that will help their life. What this reminds us is that success should not require self abandonment. When the body is depleted, the mind becomes foggy, the emotion becomes heavier and the vision becomes harder to carry. We'll take a short break. When we come back, we'll talk about root cause health and why real transformation begins when we stop treating symptoms as isolated problems and start looking at the whole person. And actually. Yep, we're good. Sorry. We'll be right back with more insights to help you create abundance, alignment and meaningful transformation. Stay tuned. And we're back. I'm Marina Painter and this is abundant mindset on Now Media Television. Let's continue. I'm here with Dr. Raquel, Functional Health practitioner and founder of Rockin Health. Now I want to talk about root cause health. So many people try to solve health challenges by managing the most visible symptoms. They chase more energy, better sleep, weight changes, improved focus, stress and more motivation. But the real issue may be just deeper. So let's talk about. I really want to understand what is happening beneath the surface. So, Dr. Raquel, if we can just dive into that and kind of break it down, how does the body and mind connect and how does our body actually tell us? We touched on that through illnesses and whatnot. Let's talk about the nervous system and how the nervous system and pressures and stresses of our everyday life, how do they affect our body? [00:13:02] Speaker B: Well, that's an excellent question and it's intense question. So the nervous system is going to control everything. So it's, it's made up of your brain that's sending all the nerves down throughout your whole spine. And those nerves are going out to all the organs, muscles and ligaments of your body. It's how your brain communicates with your entire body. But it's also how all the messages transmute. So how your body knows when hormones need to happen, how it needs to know when it has to process things, absorbing your nutrients, doing, doing everything. So when your nervous system gets stressed, like whether if it's from an emotional stressor or a physical stressor, what it'll do is it'll send different neurotransmitters throughout your body that change your hormones. So like say you, I like to use the analogy of like when people are like in a constant, like what we were talking about before, people are in a constant state of stress and they're always going, but our bodies weren't designed to be that way. So what really happens like back in the day is if you really think about how the stress system really should be working is say you're like a zebra and you have a lion and that line is going to run after the zebra. So when that happens, the zebra kicks in knowing that, hey, I got a line that's going to chase me. It instantly turns on the sympathetic nervous system of your nervous system. And this is going to allow the body to produce the cortisol, the sugars, the what it needs to run. And so it's got that stress. But as soon as it outruns the lion or the lion finds something else to eat, that zebra can instantly now can go into parasympathetic where it can rest and digest and it can turn that hyper drive off and it can actually just calm down. It's like it looks around, it's like, oh, I don't have any threat. I'm just going to rest and digest and eat and relax and enjoy life. What happens in reality world for us is that we don't necessarily have predators after us. We have these constant pressures, these constant things that we want to achieve in our life. And what happens is we keep pushing forward which then causes us to always be in that sympathetic overdrive. We're always constantly going. So we're actually causing that cortisol and our sugars and our, our body to keep going. And our digestive system never gets the message that you're supposed to rest and digest. So then what happens is your body starts to get burnt out, but you also start to develop digestive issues. You start to develop where your body is gaining weight around the middle of your belly because you're building up the cortisol. You have a lot of different things that start to happen. You start to lose brain fog. You are not lose, but you start to have brain fog. You start to get completely Exhausted and fatigued and you can't figure out why. Well, your body's burning up because it's in sympathetic overdrive all the time. We need the recovery. So if you look at an athlete, they always know how to recover so that they can allow the body to rest and digest. That's how they can perform at peak performance. But business people, we aren't very good at that. We think if we push, push, push, push, push, then we're going to be just fine and we can keep doing it forever. But in reality, that doesn't work. You need to have recovery, you need to have down time. [00:16:17] Speaker A: And that's what affecting. Right, affecting your business, affecting how you show up in the world, how you show up in. In with your family too. Right? You come home and you absolutely autopilot because you're just too darn exhausted. [00:16:31] Speaker B: Yep, yep. You're burning your candle on way too many different ends. You keep running and keep moving and you can't even sleep at night because your brain's still going [00:16:42] Speaker A: very good. So let's talk about more about imbalances. What kind of imbalances can we have? Because it sounds, it's not just psychological, it could be also chemical. Right. So what are those imbalances are and how do they affect our body? [00:16:57] Speaker B: Well, some of the imbalances are actually micronutrients. So you actually, like so many people overlook the micronutrients. We think, oh, well, you know, we don't feel well, let's go get a drug. I can't sleep. Let's go get a drug. When in reality, if you look at the true process, which is what I do in the functional medicine world, is we actually break down what is the core building blocks of your life that you need. You need zinc, you need magnesium, you need your vitamin B's amongst other stuff. But to produce, you need those specifically so that your body can actually allow your body to produce the right insulin glucose levels, so that your body can produce the right serotonin, which keeps you more happier, which then allows you to produce melatonin so that you can actually get rest at night. There's. Even when it comes to, like your hormones, if you don't have the right nutrients, the cells can't actually produce the hormones that you need. So one of the first things you got to find out is what building blocks of your body are you not having so that you can actually start to bring those levels up so then your body can actually start performing. It's not always about having a drug. It's about looking underneath the hood of your body and figuring out what building blocks aren't there. It's just like I try and explain it to people who. If you're building a house, if you only have certain parts, but you don't have all the tools to put it together, you can't build a house. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Very true. And then that's how it spills out to everyday life, right? [00:18:23] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:18:24] Speaker A: I remember because it also goes back to your mind and your mind creates the rest. As Buddha said, we are the result of all the thoughts we've ever thought. Right. Because our mind, every time we have a thought, it creates a neurotransmitter chemical reaction. I remember reading this book, Moleculars of Emotions. Have you read that? [00:18:49] Speaker B: I haven't. I'll have to get that. [00:18:50] Speaker A: It was interesting by Candace Perk. And it was about how your body, how ligaments, which are your peptides, communicate your body to your mind. So every time you think a thought, it creates a chemical reaction. So there was a study that was done, and it was interesting because it was two groups. One group was clinically depressed, and the other group was just a control group. And they showed them pictures. And it's interesting because clinically depressed people remembered only pictures that were just sad, like funeral and where it was not the case with a control group. The control group remember pictures like gatherings and vacations. So your mindset, perception is your reality. So we have to be very careful about what it is we think. Because again, that's our body, mind connection. So. Yes, so. So why are we feeling stuck? You know, we know all these things right now. Hopefully our viewers know all these things. But how do we get unstuck? [00:20:06] Speaker B: Yeah, that's an excellent question. Well, like you said, perception. And perception is your projection. What you project out there, what you believe out there, is what's actually happening. And so what happens is when you project what you think you need to have or whatever, what happens is you can become stuck in that to do life, you're constantly. To doing, to doing, to doing to get unstuck. One thing I always say, first you gotta pause in where you are and take notice. Where are you? What do you want? And if you're not doing what you want, then you have to look. Am I stuck in this routine, in this pattern? And. And these are just signs of what's going on in your body. You have to stop and look. So you pause and you ask, is this what I want? And if it's not, then what do you want instead? And then I always Say, you know, sometimes people actually have to do something physical. So I say step left and make a new decision based on what you want. And then that helps start moving that trajectory of when you feel a little bit stuck or frustrated or irritated or you. You've got the mental loop of things going in the wrong direction. We are amazing at manifesting things, abundant thinking. But we can think abundant in lack, or we can think abundant in prosperity or what we want in life, right? So you have to stop and look and go forward with where you. What you want. And it's always about knowing what do you want. And so therefore, then when you start asking those questions, then the teachers, you know how they say when you start to open up, the teachers, the guides, the mentors, they come into your experience to help you get even more unstuck and lead you in the direction you want to go. That's what you and I are kind of here for, is to help people realize that, hey, you've been stuck and now you're asking for more. And you want that abundance and you want that lifestyle and you want that mindset. Well, now you're here looking, watching the show. This means you're ready for that next piece. You're ready for that next part of your journey. And we're here to help. [00:22:14] Speaker A: Absolutely. And what is that saying? When you're ready to learn, the teacher will appear. Nothing is by accident in this life, and I truly believe in that. And there's so much science to substantiate that, Quantum physics, you name it. There's just a lot of truth to that. So what becomes clear is that the body is not working against us. This body is communicating with us. And when we learn how to listen differently, we create the possibility for real healing, real clarity, and real transformation. We'll take a short break, and when we return, we'll go deeper into mindset. And while breaking free from limiting beliefs may be one of the most important steps in reclaiming health and create momentum. Maybe we're just sick and tired of being sick and tired and time to make that change and make a difference in your own life. Let's, let's get to it. We'll be right back with more insights to help you create abundance, alignment, and meaningful transformation. Stay tuned. And we're back. [00:23:22] Speaker B: Marina. [00:23:23] Speaker A: I'm Marina Painter, and this is Abundant Mindset on NOW Media Television. Let's continue. If you're watching this and you know you're ready for the next level in your health, career, business, or personal life, this is a segment you got to listen to. Sometimes the body is stuck, but sometimes the belief system is stuck too. I'm continuing with Dr. Raquel and now I want to focus on mindset transformation. Dr. Raquel's work is not only about helping people feel better physically. It's also about helping them break free from limiting beliefs and reclaim the confidence to live and lead differently. So let's explore how identity, belief, fear, perception, perfectionism, boy, I know I suffer from that. People pleasing overachievement and self doubt can create people trapped in patterns that demand and damage their health and limit their growth. So Dr. Raquel, let's talk. Hello. Let's talk about. So if a person comes to you and says I am ready like our viewers right now, I'm just ready, what do I do first? [00:24:51] Speaker B: Well, the first thing I always have people first do is they fill out an assessment form and then we schedule a call to kind of start going over what it is they need. And that can vary. So like when I'm working with people, I do the functional side, but I also do that breakthrough side. And so irregardless, we need to do a deep personal history. We need to find out what's going on behind the scenes going on in their mind. Because even a lot of what we're thinking in our head can create dis ease in our body. And a lot of times you have to clear those thought process so that you can allow the body to heal. [00:25:24] Speaker A: And let's try it one more time, not to interrupt because I think it's very, very important. Disease. What is disease? It's dis ease in your body. [00:25:33] Speaker B: Exactly. Yes, yes, yes, exactly. Dis ease in the body. So when you're thinking certain thoughts or you allow yourself to stay trapped in feelings of anger, frustration, fear, shame, guilt, those kind of things, those create different types of dis ease in the body and don't allow you to actually achieve the life you want. And a lot of times we have those emotions become overriding our, our everyday decisions and we can't understand why we're not making clear decisions or acting from clarity because we have these, it's like a cloud that's kind of over you. So what we do is when as the more we find out more is then we start lifting that cloud. And some of it is going to be we have to do run the test for the functional medicine side because we have to do the building blocks, we have to build the body up and, and take care of the body, but then we have to really take care of that brain and at the same time, I think the brain is the most amazing thing in the human body. I mean, it's just so powerful, so amazing. And when you actually give it the ability to work and figure out what it needs to do and to clear the path, it can do so many things. So there's so many different things that people do that we have to kind of dive in deeper to find out more about what they need. And everyone is unique and individual as to how they need to heal and what they need specifically. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Well, and it's absolutely true. And then the other portion to that, right, people have to want the change. Because sometimes people say, well, that's just who I am. Well, this is what I do. This is just. That's the way it is. But are they being truthful to themselves? Is it how it is? Is it how you really want to be? Really? Every day you want to be tired and being sick and tired and waking up and saying, you know what? I am dreading today's Monday and I am not looking forward to it. You want to be that person when you wake up and say, you know what? I am ready to conquer this, this day. I'm ready to be on top of my game. I'm ready to deal with everything and accept everything that happens is an opportunity to become better person and better version of yourself. And that's what I see a lot in the business world when successful people, they're such overachievers, but they are the most stuck people because they don't even know it because they know how just to push through and grit and perseverance and determination. And, you know, you walk in their offices and you see those phrases, you know, the grit and. Yeah, but how sustainable is that? How good is it for you, for your body, your mind, future self? [00:28:19] Speaker B: Well, we get stuck in that people pleasing, you know, we want to keep making sure everybody is happy. And then we lose who we are authentically and what people really want. They don't necessarily want you to please them all the time. They want to know who you are authentically you. But we have gotten so good at reading everybody else and almost like morphing, like becoming like the little chameleon and becoming who we think everybody else needs to be, when in reality we only really want to be, is be around who you truly are. That's what lights you up. So when you can step into your authenticity. Okay, that's a hard word to say, authenticity, then you can become more of who you are to be and you can lead better. But then you also Allow your body to heal. Because now when you're people pleasing, you're pushing down your own self. If you're saying yes to them, you're saying no to yourself. And if you keep saying no to yourself, that's going to affect your hormones, that's going to affect your cortisol, it's going to affect everything in your body as and it's going to make your brain kind of start to shift. So there's that neuroplasticity. And when you're constantly saying no, when you're running these loops and you don't know what you want, it just creates this horrible cycle that's going on in your body. When you actually stop and you ask what do I want? And you name what you want or how you feel and acting from authenticity and truth, then that your body all of a sudden the, at the neurotransmitters, everything can kind of calm down and your body can actually start to heal that way. When it starts to know, this is who I am and this is who I want to be and this is where I want to go, it allows you to have that freedom in life. [00:29:56] Speaker A: Absolutely. And we all know women, the moms and us, you know, they always put everybody first, you know, children, husbands, everybody else. [00:30:05] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:30:06] Speaker A: And where are we? It's time. Because you know, you can pour from an empty cup, you have to fill yourself up first. And yeah, that self worth, that feeling inside, that little voice inside of you that says, you know what, ah, tomorrow is another day. Well, I'll do that in the month. I'll take care of me when it's time for me to take care of me. But it's typically too late when it's time to take care because you now have physical and emotional effects of what the stress and this merge does to you. So today is the day. So let me repeat that for the audience. Today is the day that you make that change and better your life. Because by bettering your life, you'll better everything around you. Just change your mindset, make that abundant mindset, make your priority today. So Dr. Raquel, how do you help clients move from this is just how I am to a more empowered understanding of where you need to be for the long term effect for your future self so your future self can thank you one day. [00:31:21] Speaker B: Well, a lot of that is recognizing what limiting beliefs or what parts of you are not in alignment. So like you mentioned earlier about self worth, that's an absolute huge one. We have a lot of self worth issues, guilt and shame, especially As a mom or as a woman in business, we feel so guilty that we're working on our career, but we're not taking care of our family or vice versa. And you just don't have that congruency. And so you also start to feel like that self worth, like you're just not as good. You kind of keep that thing and you kind of keep working, trying to figure out how you're going to make yourself better. When in reality, when you start to stop and think about it. When I take people through the processes, they actually get these learnings so that they can break through that self worth and they actually become where they, they actually understand how they are such an amazing human being and how, and what they're meant to do. Some people are just, it's so clouded, they don't know. So when you do that breakthrough, they get more clear on that pattern. They let go of the guilt, they let go of that shame. They get to step into their true authentic power of who they truly are so that they can be abundant, so that they can attract what they want. So they stop people pleasing and they act through, through true authenticity. So also there's parts of you, so there's a part of you that might want something and another part of you that doesn't want something. And I also help people get that those parts get to come together and actually work together to create what you want. So it's like you kind of heard you got the devil on one side and you got the angel on the other side. It's kind of like what side are you feeding again? That's like your parts, you've got this one part of you that wants this or believes in this, or you have a part of you that wants this, but this other part of you doesn't truly believe you can have it or do what you say you want to do. And so you have to get them on the same page. You have to get all players working together so that you can actually be moving forward in your life. [00:33:11] Speaker A: Absolutely. And sometimes people just forget that just because you are here right now, in this spot, at this point of your life, it doesn't mean that this is forever because it really depends on you. You are the only one that needs to have the change in mind, wants to have the change and move towards that change and no change. Especially as we all know, by the age of 35, your brain is developed, your prefrontal cortex is built, and all the experiences we know is based on the thinking, feeling loop. Because we stop experience New stuff but Dr. Rickel, and you probably can attest to that, the neuroplasticity as you bring [00:33:58] Speaker B: that up, I was just thinking you got your amygdala and you got your prefrontal cortex. And when people are stuck in fear, fear or anxiety, or always thinking something is going to be doing something to them, they grow that amygdala part, which is kind of like your hind brain or your, your, your fight or flight kind of part of the brain. And then it starts to make the frontal brain small. And your frontal brain is where all your reasoning, all the thought processes really truly happen, how you decide to create the life you want to have. So what we need to do is calm down those stressors, calm down that fear, calm down that shame or the guilt or the part of believe you can have it and get rid of that anxiety or calm it down. When you start to calm that down, then the, and you start practicing, you can grow that frontal, the frontal lobe way stronger. So now you're reasoning, you're being able to think, your clarity, your connection, all of that comes to the focus and you get to actually create the life you want. [00:34:55] Speaker A: Absolutely. This is such an amazing part of the abundance conversation. The beliefs we carry shape what we tolerate, what we pursue, what we ignore, and what we believe we deserve. When someone starts breaking free from old limitations, they do not just change how they feel, they change how they show up in their career, in their relationship, in their leadership in the future. Okay, we'll take a short break and we come back. We'll close with what it means to become unstuck and unstoppable. Not by pushing harder, but by aligning health and mindset and purpose. We'll be right back with more insights to help you create abundance, alignment and meaningful transformation. Stay tuned. And we're back. I'm with Dr. Raquel and as we close I want to bring this conversation to the outcome. So many professionals are really seeking to become unstuck and truly unstoppable. That does not mean forcing, grinding, ignoring the body in the name of ambition. It means creating alignment between health, mindset, career, and life someone actually wants to live. We want to have that life. It's just one hour, one. One life that we have right now is the time to get that life actually aligned where we are and where we're heading. So let's talk about wellness and full life transformation. Dr. Raquel, how do we actually make that next step? How do we say that this is the time for us? So how difficult is it typically just to make that change? [00:37:43] Speaker B: Well, I don't think it's very difficult to make that change. You just got to choose it and want it and then take the step forward to make it happen. So, I mean, just people being here and watching the show, that's one step forward and then taking action on connecting with the people here on these TV shows. But one thing I like to do with people is make sure that we assess their values, because they need to know what they value in life so that they can move forward and so that they can become unstoppable in life and align their bodies to what they need. So the first step forward is just recognizing and being aware that you want to change and that you're ready to change. And maybe you don't even feel ready. You just know something's got to give because you can't keep doing what you've been doing. That's the definition of insanity, right? Keep doing the same thing you've always done and expect a different result. Well, you got to get off the hamster wheel. You got to get off that cycle and be like, no, I am choosing to something different today. And once you make that conscious choice, the people align and come into you. And some things you can even just say, I am open to the opportunity of change. I'm open to the opportunity of what I want in life, and I'm open to the opportunity of creating the life I want. Sometimes it's just starting with some. Like, there's. They're affirmations, but it's a soft affirmation, so it actually feels like something you can do. It's not like saying, I am this something you don't believe in. But when you say, I am open to the opportunity of something this or something better, it kind of softens it and you allow yourself to have that enter into your life so that you can unstick yourself from wherever you're at so that you can actually start creating momentum and movement into the life you actually want to have. It's. It's one little thing at a time. I mean, you Gotta, you got a steady stream. You got this huge river going in one direction because of where you believe you are and what you need to be. And so you can't just turn your boat around when you got the downstream going this way. Right. You got to almost kind of start curving a little path somewhere else and get that trickle emotion going in another path. So then you can just get that stream going versus the big stream. So it's, it's little things at a time and if you keep doing those little things, they're going to turn into a big stream and take you in the direction you want to go. So that you can hop on a different boat, I guess. [00:40:02] Speaker A: Absolutely. And it's great because we just all get so inspired. We want to make that change. We try. But what happens in real life, right, when real life really happens, how do we prevent from falling back in our ways of being? How do we not do that? It's like gym membership, you know, like New Year's resolution. Everybody just so hyped to go to the gym and lose 20 pounds they've been trying to lose for the last 20 years. And then by like February, March. Yeah, I don't feel like doing that. I have a couple of gym owners as clients and they say the most revenue producing months are January and February and then March. Something happens, people go back to their way of being, of being their old self. So how do we prevent from being, falling back into our habits and just the way we used to be? [00:41:01] Speaker B: Well, again, that's by clearing the big negative six emotions that trap your body into that part. So, and it's also aligning the parts because if you have a part of you that doesn't believe you can actually get fit and you're just doing something because you know that's what society says you should do at that time, but that part of you doesn't agree with it. You're not going to be in union. And what if your values don't align? When you get your values aligned, it's a lot easier to take action. So when people fall backwards, it's usually because they aren't clear on their values. They don't have the parts of them integrated and they might still have a lot of the negative emotions that are clouding their judgment. They aren't truly stepping into their authentic, who they need to be self. They aren't being them, they aren't being true to who they are so that they can be free and allow their life to happen. And sometimes, like we've talked earlier, it's the building blocks of their body. They might not have the right nutrients in their body so that their brain can actually make all the right connections to make sure their body can go. They get too fatigued and tired and it's just like they pat. They pick the path of least resistance, the path that they know. Because the path that they don't know is it's always harder when you're trying something new. But then they've got to find something and it's just a little something. They're going from one extreme to another extreme. They want, they want sitting on the couch to all of a sudden having an instant six pack body. Well that doesn't happen in an instance. It's the little things over time to that build up to that. And they got to learn that one little baby step at a time and just learning consistency over time. But sometimes they go too strong, too fast, fast. So it's the same thing. When I'm working with people, I'm like, are you a person that likes to take things really fast and jump wholeheartedly in and then if you do, what happens? Or are you a person who likes to take their time and learn a little bit at a time and how does that work for you? Because they might be two different ways. I mean you can both do both and never end up where they want to go. So then we have to figure out what is stopping you from having the end result. Are you clear on your end result? Are you truly in alignment with your end result? Does that truly feel, does that truly light you up? Because if it doesn't, then you're not going to do the work. Your why isn't powerful enough. You got to know your why. [00:43:19] Speaker A: And the other thing that happens, and I see quite a bit of that, people fall back in their old habits and now the shame kicks in. Oh, I can't do that. It's not for me. Now I know it's not for me. You have to structure whatever the new change you're making in your life, whatever it might be, even baby step, baby step is better than none. But whatever change you're making, you need to also position yourself that you can succeed in that. Like in other words, if you say I'm gonna run every morning but put your shoes by the door so that way you don't have to think about it. And they're already there to remind you. Just there is a. I don't know if there's a book on habit stacking that I feel is very successful because you start with one little habit, and you build on it. But by creating this whole new regimen and new routine for yourself, that's how you stick with it. And as long as you do it for 30 to 90 days, that becomes part of you. Because your neuroplasticity, when you learn something new, that's where synaptic connections happen. And that's when you hired Wired to do the new way. And you would not even know the old way anymore, so. [00:44:36] Speaker B: Right. [00:44:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:44:40] Speaker B: And so there's even things that you can do, like when you. As you align your parts, but you can also do things so that when you want to create a new habit, there's also things that I have learned that I use. It's like a little bit of like a hypnosis type thing, but it helps you set yourself up using those habits, because you build on the habits. So we set it up like, okay, well, you do this now. What do you want to do next after that? And getting clear and then making sure it happens that way. And when we do that, it really makes a huge difference when you do that. And it's almost like, so strong that, like, it feels really weird if you don't do what you said you were going to do. It's like you. You have to follow through with it because your body just doesn't want to work if it doesn't do that. It's a really cool little technique that we have. [00:45:23] Speaker A: Absolutely. And anything new is always scary, and it's always uncomfortable because it's not normal. So what is that saying? If it doesn't challenge you, doesn't change you. So be challenged, because you'd be amazed how much you can do in just two months, a year. It might feel, like, far away. But you know what? If you don't plant the right seed today, tomorrow will come. And what you're gonna have is whatever you're planting now. Right. So be. Be mindful of that. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Right. And you. You want to do things that create fun. If you're not having fun in it, yeah. You're not gonna stick to it. So if you're picking an activity or you're doing something in your life or you're creating something that's no longer fun, you aren't gonna stick with it. So you need to find and have fun in life. It's not always about pushing through things. If you get so stuck and you're so, like, on this one path, just completely shift and go do something that's fun, that lights you up and that will completely start to shift. Your energy so that you can actually get more in tune with who you are too. [00:46:28] Speaker A: So let me ask you, you have so much insight. I so appreciate this conversation and I know our audience does too. Do you have any other tips as to what else can we implement for that change, for the lasting results? What else? What else? Just minor changes that kind of just change your big picture in the long run? [00:46:50] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. Well, one, it's becoming clear on what you want and always asking the question, what do I want instead? And always checking in with yourself and finding out, is there a part of you that believes that you can do something or what part of you doesn't? And in asking what that part needs from you, and then taking action and learning to listen to yourself. So sometimes you get these little nudges in your brain that say, do this or do that, follow those nudges. The more you do that, even if it's one a day, you're going to start to build that self confidence in yourself and you're going to get more clarity because you're going to be like, okay, I followed my nudge and this felt good and it turned out good. And then always asking, what do I want instead? And just taking alignment, taking one baby step action at a time. And if it's about your health, taking one little baby step at a time, even if it's like, okay, hey, I have a lot of health issues, I've been doing something and this isn't working. Well, maybe you need to find someone else. Maybe you're looking to functional health practitioner or maybe you need to look at something else or a different guide or mentor that's going to help you find those answers because they're going to be able to see things you can't see so that you can actually be led to where you want to go. It's that coach, that mentor, that person that can see outside of things and help you see things in a different light. [00:48:08] Speaker A: Very good. That's very, very important. So what message would you give to anybody that's watching right now that is hesitant, that might be feeling a little apprehensive about the change? What would you tell them? [00:48:25] Speaker B: Well, you can feel apprehensive about just anything and everything, but in reality, I want you just to like really sit with yourself, take some time, think about what is it that you want, whether if it's health, your career, your life, your business, whatever it is, and decide what it is you want and then feel that feeling and then take the next right action, Take that step, that action that you feel led to in your heart. Take that step, Listen to yourself, trust yourself. And it's just with one little thought at a time, you can start shifting and changing and trusting and moving forward. And as you do that, you're going to feel better. I mean, you can always connect with me. If you want more guidance, you can connect with Marita here. And so what we want is, you know, you can check out my website. It's rockinhealth.com I work at helping people have breakthroughs.
